A fine time in the vines

Slow Food members enjoyed a trip to Babu’s Vineyard in Weston Longville, near Norwich in July.

Owner and wine lover Peter Ross and his wife Julia led the tour round the 800 vines set in the small, family run vineyard and winery producing award winning white and rose wines from just a single acre of land.

So why Babu’s? The name of the vineyard comes from the Swahili “Babu” which means grandfather and is a family title. Peter Ross, who planted the vineyard, in 2009 became a grandfather in 2004 thus inheriting the title.
