A cheque for £227 was handed to Aylsham Food Bank volunteers from proceeds of the sale of Slow Food Aylsham’s recipe book Canny Cooking. Colin Graham, lead volunteer at Aylsham parish church, along with volunteer Pam Smith and Tim Morton, Project Manager, Cromer and District Foodbank, received the donation from Patrick Prekopp, chair of Slow Food Aylsham.
More than 500 copies have already been distributed free to food bank users across north Norfolk from Hunstanton to Great Yarmouth – and even Rutland. And the book has attracted interest from food banks in London, Bristol and Birmingham.
All centres are reporting an increase, up 37 per cent in people fed in 2020 so far.
